Introduction

Bitango Technologies, limited company ("we", "us", or "our"), operates the Minibits Wallet mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the app, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By using the Minibits Wallet app you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you are not comfortable with any of the practices described here, please discontinue use of the application.

Information We Collect

We collect limited information during app usage and do not acquire personal data from external vendors. We operate a public LNURL/NOSTR server that enables wallet addresses (e.g. yourname@minibits.cash) to function as Lightning addresses and NOSTR NIP-05 public identifiers. In order to provide this functionality, app communicates with the server limited inforamtion listed below.

Information processed by the app and by our LNURL server infrastructure

Randomly generated wallet identifier — a unique, anonymous identifier generated on your device.
Shareable wallet name and associated public key — a human-readable name you may choose and share with others.
Random profile picture — a public avatar connected to your wallet identity, generated randomly.
Push notification tokens — if you give permission to use push notifications.
Digital signatures — wallet periodically provides signed authorization request in order to keep secure access to the LNURL server API.
Anonymous diagnostics and error reporting data — crash reports and performance metrics that help us improve the app. You can opt-out from sending us this data.

Our logs collection service strips IP addresses and other private information automatically.

Information stored only on your device

The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

Seed phrase and associated private key
On-device authorization token, in case you opt-in for biometric authentication
Ecash tokens and their total balance
Transaction records
Contacts - wallet addresses of frequent payees

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

Manage and repair any aspect of the product or service
Comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements

We rely on the consent given to us upon application first start as the legal basis for processing. If you are not comfortable with how we process data, you should refrain from using the application.

Data Sharing

We may share your information with:

IT service providers necessary for operating the app and associated LNURL server
Legal authorities when required by law

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to:

Provide the service
Resolve disputes
Meet legal obligations

You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Your Rights below), though please note that certain wallet functionality will stop working after deletion.

The Minibits Wallet app is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
